The EV Project aims to deploy 14,000 charging stations in 18 major U.S. cities and metropolitan areas located in six states and the District of Columbia.  EV infrastructure has already been deployed in California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Texas and Washington D.C., funded by Department of Energy grants and partner matching. The EV Project website offers status updates including educational resources that include definitions of EV, BEV, PHEV, HEV, EREV, Level 2 charging and DC fast charging, as well as environmental impact assessments and job creation projections. As of June, 2011, ECOtality completed commercial charging stations in Washington, Oregon, Arizona and California. Deployment updates are available at the ECOtality news page.
